Mural painting with some great kids. Elementary school. First time in Delaware. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.

TOUR STOP: Connecticut. What a beautiful school! Tons a warm faces and bright ideas. We made paintings and told stories and they even had an extra drum kit set up. I know, I know, I write children’s books… but how could I resist?

Awesome Book tour. Changing what it means to be a kids book author one reading at a time.

Vandalism doesn’t have to be vandalism.

Just finished the last leg of a two week East Coast kids book tour. Sorry I haven’t been posting as much on the road. Life has been far too rich to be bogged down by computers. Flying back to Los Angeles in an hour with many stories to tell and many pictures to share. Thanks to everyone I met this month and all the magical faces I saw. It was tremendous. More to come!

So many readings today. Almost a thousand kids and two murals before 3pm. So in love with this tour!

There are a lot of interesting places the further you travel off the highway.

Mother New York just posted some sweet photos of my recent daytime friends and family reading at their magnificent NYC headquarters. If you are not familiar with their work you should check them out, they do fun things. Above is an outtake shot wherein I ended up on the ground after losing a thumb wrestling battle with a small girl.

Note: if you invite me to your ad agency and give me a microphone chances are I will end up rolling around on the floor.
