MULTIPLE CHOICE

I actually heard one of these things today. Out loud.

At the gas station.
A middle aged man on what looks like his first date in a long time -

“During the spring I got a job
traveling to local middle schools
throughout the Midwest
and teaching teenagers to smoke.

It was a blast.
Met so many cool kids
and got a commission on each one I recruited.
You’d be surprised how many kids these days
have been effected by the negative connotations cigarettes have.
According to statistics smoking in teens is down almost fifteen percent since 1980.”

Waiting for the bathroom in a coffee shop.
Two men in their twenties. One is wearing Crocs. The other is balding -

“It’s called “Soul Pirates”
What happens is Ice Cube falls overboard
off of a cruise ship
and is rescued by Somali pirates
who have just botched a job trying to commandeer a Russian oil tanker.

One of the pirates recognizes Ice Cube
And they take him to shore and decide to hold him hostage.
He is upset at first
and even tries to escape.
But they get him back.
And slowly they grow to understand each other.
And he teaches them funny things
And they teach him funny things
And he falls in love with a girl pirate
And kind of doesn’t even want to leave.

Until the US Government shows up to rescue him.
And there is an awful standoff
where he protects one of the pirates
who gets shot in the end.
But doesn’t die.
Because he’s in the sequel”

Looking at the dessert counter.
A 19 year old girl trying to comfort her crying friend
by telling him to drop out of community college. -

“You don’t even need it anymore. You’re already like a minor level celebrity. You’re already famous.”
