THE VISION
At one time
before the both of us
arrived and started thinking
we knew so much about where we would end up
and how we would manage to get there
two men stood next to each other
both tall and strong
at the edge of a mountain
and one pointed out over it all
and decided where the roads
would go, and how long they would be.
And the other nodded and quietly drew
the plans to give to the men
who came in teams
to carve the routes
on which people such as ourselves
would travel away from each other
for years and years to come.
